Easter Egg Hunt
We are hosting a vegan Easter Egg hunt for the week before Easter - Sunday April 10th at 11:00AM, and really hope to see our local community out for some family fun and chocolatey smiles!
Little Vegan Treats is SO excited to be hosting a VEGAN Easter Egg Hunt for our local vegan community's kiddos.
So that we can be sure to have enough treats for everyone, please add a ticket for each child who will be attending, and select their age range. We will set up a couple of areas to search for eggs - for 5 & under, and 6 - 12(ish).
We have always tried to ensure that our own vegan kiddos get to enjoy special holidays and events in a "normal" way, but it is rarely seamless. So we just want to have an event where every vegan kid can bliss out and eat every single piece of candy they find, without having to worry about the label (with their parent's permission, of course). With this in mind, and because we know many of you will have a bit of a drive in order to attend - we are not charging for registration. There is a "pay what you want" option, if you would like to contribute something, but at the end of the day, we just want families to attend and enjoy, so it is absolutely okay to just enter $0! Registration is limited, so please book early, and let us know if you can't make it after reserving your spot.
Some of the treats will contain peanut or gluten, so if this is a concern please let us know - we will make it easily identifiable which treats contain peanut/gluten. (eg, specific coloured eggs, etc.)
We searched for an outdoor venue that would be relatively central in the Fraser Valley/Lower Mainland, offer a shelter from sun or rain, play structures, ample parking, easy-to-follow directions, wheelchair accessible, washrooms and - most importantly - lots of great hiding places for the Easter Bunny to leave treats. After checking out half a dozen parks, we've rented the Whonnock Lake Gazebo in Maple Ridge for Sunday April 10th.
This is a gorgeous gem of a spot - feel free to pack blankets/camp chairs and a picnic lunch and stay the day (you can also make use of the picnic tables, on a first-come, first-served basis). There is a sandy beach, gorgeous lake (frozen during our February visit), play areas and lots of room to have fun and enjoy nature.
Please note, there is no lifeguard or childminding service; please supervise your children at all times. Please also note, dogs are not permitted in the gazebo, park area or the beach.
If you are placing an order for goodies on the site and would like to pick it up at the event, please choose the "pickup" option at checkout, and we will have it ready for you at the day of the Easter Egg Hunt!
